The U.S.-Israel Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation annually awards 25-30 grants of up to $1 million to U.S.-Israeli product development, including for sustainable food supply chain innovation. Projects include ag-tech, alternative ingredients and proteins, substitutes for sugar and salt, manufacturing/automation, data mining and forecasting, water-tech, communications, inventory management, quality control, supply chain logistics, sustainable packaging materials and more. The BIRD Foundation assists companies by introducing them to potential Israeli partners and coaching them on how to submit a successful grant request.
